The Dallas Morning News editorial page continues to make excuses for the complete failure of the Dallas Police Department to significantly reduce crime.  This year, Dallas has again earned the distinction of ranking #1 in total crime per capita among major cities with population over one million for the NINTH YEAR IN A ROW.  According to our local newspaper, there really isn't much that police can do to reduce crime.  New York City and Rudy Giuliani  disproved that bullcrap last decade when the NYC Police Department, under the leadership of Mayor Giuliani, reduced murders from a high of 2262 per year during the term of the previous Mayor, David Dinkins, down to 640 per year at the end of Rudy's last term in 2001. All other crime categories were reduced an equivalent percentage.  CLICK HERE  to read how his remarkable success in reducing crime in the nation's largest city, just might help to elect him our next President.

GOOD NEWS - DALLAS REDUCES CRIME YEAR TO DATE!!   BAD NEWS - OTHER MAJOR CITIES REDUCE IT MORE!!
#1 AGAIN - IN CRIMES PER CAPITA, 9th YEAR IN A ROW!!

Since Dallas is #1 in crime per capita, it will have to reduce crime by a greater percentage than other cities to move out of its #1 position in crime per capita among cities with population over one million.
When the economy improves, generally the crime decreases.  Dallas is indeed reducing crime overall, but many other major cities are reducing it more.  Unfortunately, this means that Dallas, again in 2006, will remain #1 in crime per capita among the major cities for a NINTH year in a row.
December crime stats from the Dallas Police Department show a 2.7% reduction year-to-date in overall crime.  New York City reports a 4.7% reduction and Los Angeles reports an 8% drop.  Last year New York City was #9 (last place) and Los Angeles was #8.
Seems the only significant change that the Dallas Police Department has implemented in 2006, seems to have made things worst.  Chief Kunkle's Verified Response for commercial burglaries has resulted in a 4% increase in commercial burglaries.  Burglars are real happy that Dallas has quit responding to alarm systems for businesses.  Our burglary rate is already six times higher per capita than New York City.
So chalk up the marginal overall reduction in crime in Dallas in 2006 to an improving economy.....not to an improving police department!

CLICK HERE to learn how "illegal" immigrants are committing crime at a rate much higher than any other major demographic group.  ONE OUT OF FIVE inmates in federal prisons are "illegal"  according to the Department of Justice.  "Illegals" are definitely doing more harm than good to our nation and crime is only one area that they are "taking more than they are giving".

dallascrime.com addresses crime and "illegal" immigration

Over 30% of the inmates in Texas prisons are illegal immigrants.....in California, its over 50%.  With national attention now on illegal immigration, our website will begin focusing on how crimes by illegals are largely responsible for Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and Phoenix ranking #1, #2, #3 and #4 in crime per capita among cities with population over one million.  Don't be fooled by the main stream media spin on this issue.....the savings to the American taxpayer in goods and services provided by illegals is far exceeded by the cost to educate his children, provide health care for his family and incarcerate millions of illegals in our prisons.

This new website will keep the citizens of Dallas informed about the high crime in our city.  It will provide an objective and unvarnished perspective of the overall crime situation and encourage citizens to become active and demand that the city government and business community get their heads straight and make the reduction of crime priority #1.  Improving parks & streets is important, but making them SAFE is much more important!

EVERY YEAR ......FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS.....DALLAS CITIZENS HAVE BEEN CRIME VICTIMS AT THE HIGHEST RATE IN THE NATION AMONG CITIES WITH POPULATION OVER ONE MILLION.

The average citizen in Dallas is not aware that he is living in a city with the worst overall crime rate among major cities.  For the last EIGHT years Dallas has had the HIGHEST total crime rate per capita and HIGHEST burglary rate per capita of all major U.S. cities with population over one million.  Year after year, Dallas has consistently ranked #1, #2 or #3 among these major cities in all crime categories tracked by the FBI.

In the 1990's, while Mayor Kirk built a stadium and the crime rate in Dallas trended upward, Mayor Giuliani reduced crime in New York City by over 60%.  Mayor Kirk left us our city with a murder rate double that of Mayor Giuliani's New York City.  We have our work to do, but if New York, a city with a population eight times greater than Dallas, can reduce crime......then Dallas can.   To solve a problem, you must first admit that you have a problem.  Thanks to the recent outing of the high crime rate by the local media, we have finally admitted that we have a problem !  CLICK HERE to read a transcript of Mayor Giuliani's last speech as Mayor of New York City where he discusses what was done to reduce NYC's high crime rate during his term from 1994 thru 2001.  His speech is timely as it gives Dallas a blueprint to follow as it takes its first serious steps to combat crime.

_____________________________________

In Dallas, with the nation's highest burglary rate per capita among cities with population over one million for eight years in a row ---- the city's mayor and police chief have implemented a brillant idea ---- let's just quit responding to commercial burglar alarms!!!  According to the Dallas Morning News ---- Dallas police will no longer respond to commercial burglar alarms until after  the business owner, an employee or a private patrol has first travelled to the property and visually verified that a burglary is in progress.  THIS AIN'T NO JOKE!!!  The two largest cities that have implemented this "verification" policy, Salt Lake City & Las Vegas, have seen 7% to 33% increases respectively, in burglary per capita since 2001.  Los Angeles adopted and then rejected verified response in 2003 citing an increase in burglaries and overall crime in cities that adopted the policy.  Dallas is already the worst major city in the nation for burglary.... now it's gonna get even worse.  The city will come up with any excuse, no matter how outrageous, not to do the one thing that must be done before we can significantly reduce crime in our city ..... HIRE MORE POLICE!!!   It has been nearly three years since Bolton was fired and the city has done nothing of substance to reduce crime.  NO SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE!!!  COMPARED TO OTHER MAJOR CITIES, IT'S GETTING WORSE NOT BETTER!!!

MAYOR GIULIANI'S FAREWELL SPEECH

The final speech of Rudy Giuliani as Mayor of New York City is extremely relevant to Dallas at this time.  Our city is deteriorating rapidly with the highest per capita crime rate in the nation among cities with population over one million.  In the speech, Rudy addresses the actions taken by New York City that took the city from the nation's "crime capital" to the nation's "safest major city" in his two terms as Mayor from 1994 thru 2001.This dramatic reduction in crime created a "quality of life" renaissance in our nation's largest city.  CLICK HERE to learn how he did it in Rudy's FAREWELL SPEECH.
